SensEd Project Closes with a Bang
After 3 glorious years, our SensEd project has finally concluded with an all-singing, all-dancing (quite literally!) transnational meeting in Málaga, Spain. All 7 partners congregated at EARTES (Escuela Internacional de Artes del Entretenimiento)’s premises to showcase the results of the project – how to integrate the sensory skills into curricula.
Day 1 kicked off with the project leaders, Norway's SOTS showcasing how reading and literature could be stimulated sensorially.
WCI took over with a workshop in integrating the different senses in lessons according to levels, ages and abilities.
The Turkish partners used the power of imagination with visual aids, followed by a hands-on session with traditional Turkish fluid art.
The Italian team led by MeNO threw participants into music, rhythm and movement, and packed in some emotional bombs.
Chiara played a 'blank doll' letting participants manipulate her movements and emotions.
Together with Giovanni, participants created an emotional story that left everyone close to tears.
Spanish hosts, EARTES, demonstrated the power of music on emotions.
Portuguese partner, Esprominho, isolated sight to develop other senses.
Participants also got to visit the Roman Theatre and the Alcazaba, a Moorish fortress
There was also time to sample great seafood by the sea and everybody's company.
Apart from the opportunity to meet partners for the final time, it was indicative of the camaraderie and strong relationships which had been formed over the course of the project. It was not Adiós, but hasta luego for most of us.
