We are 25!!!

Warnborough College Ireland - 25th Anniversary

It’s hard to believe that we started 25 years ago.  We began as a natural progression from the distance learning options first offered by our sister college, Warnborough College UK, in 1994.  Back then, ‘distance learning’ meant working away from campus and sending things in via the post or even fax.

We decided to take advantage of the then-relatively unused form of email and the World Wide Web, with password-protected sections of the website providing access to documents and course materials. Never afraid of trying out new things, we progressed towards learning management systems and other forms of teaching and learning.

A key factor in our decision-making from early on was our commitment toward providing highly-personalised learning. Our mentors diligently worked with their students to craft personal interests into learning pathways with clear objectives and outcomes. We were also aware of how studying at a distance could be isolating and demotivating, and we tried our best to keep in regular communication and develop healthy relationships with our students. We like to believe we have done this well.

What’s coming up in the next 25 years? Well, we do not intend to rest on our laurels. We have never been afraid of being mavericks, and we are very proud of the legacy we have built thanks to the dedication of our staff, faculty and students over the years. To you all, we say a big, warm and heartful THANK YOU!

Here’s to another 25!

Floreat Warnborough!
